Take Me Home, Country Road

For anyone wondering about my lack of posting regarding our house selling adventure, let me tell you that no news. . .is no news.

We have a contract in on the house we are hoping to buy, but the attached Hubbard clause expires at the end of the month. The owners have taken the home off the market for now, but will actively market it again if we don't sell ours within the next three weeks. I have no doubt the beautiful bow-roof cape with a pool will be snatched up by one of many families relocating to the area at the behest of one of the country's largest pharmaceutical employers. And we'll be back at square one. I'm just optimistic like that.

I'll be sending my agent updated pictures so that our MLS listing and newspaper ads will look spring-like and new. Beyond that, I'm fresh out of freshness.

Lucky for me, the term "home" offers no lack of cliches and song titles with which to title blog posts as part of this never ending saga. It'll be awhile before I'll really need to get creative.

    I'm sorry. I know if it were me I'd be FREAKING. Because I can't stand the unknown, the unpredictable. But maybe -- hopefully -- you are more mellow than I.

    I'm currently suffering house hunting woes from a buyer's perspective. I've seen over 25 houses lately and they are all starting to blur into one another.

    I remember your post showing the pictures of your house and believe me, if I were moving to Connectcut I would buy your house in a heartbeat. It's fabulous.

    I'm so sorry, I know how stressful and hopeless it can feel. We had a buyer die 2 weeks before closing. It is jut one of the hardest things. Good luck.

Shiny Happy People

I have a friend who reads this blog and is, understandably, surprised by the community of commenters that many mutha bloggas elicit. "You've got some enthusiastic supporters out there, huh?" Boz mentioned over lunch this past weekend. "Um, yeah, I guess you could say that. That's how we mommybloggers are. Supportive. Enthusiastic. Yup." Who Does Number Two Work For?

The Boss will soon have an underling. Barring unforeseen contract disputes or better offers from more prestigious employers, Number Two will begin work sometime around April 22. We're flexible.
