The Boss Fills In

I'm swamped. Who isn't, right? Since I don't have time to pull together four coherent sentences, I thought I'd bring in The Boss to do a guest post. Not that's she's coherent, either. But she's really cute.
With this quick transcription, I will be on my way. Here goes:

    Awwwwwww...... she's so CUTE!! Your husband may be right about the cutest baby thing.... well, maybe next to my Paige anyways ;)

    I remember the days of a few words....when I called my daughter from work today i couldn't get a word in edgewise....this was what I got..

    Paige: "Hello? how are you? Grammy went to get baby Cayden. He waked up. Here's kity-cat. She's right there. She's white. She has a pink pretty. Sean watch TV. He watch a dog. I had Pop cart (tart). It was yummy. I love you. Bye-bye"

    yup....didn't get a word in edgewise...she takes after my husband!

Three Hours

It was the same damn sky. I left the driveway in my car as a fusion of Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World came on the satellite radio. The overall effect of high blue and a gentle warble atop the ukulele should've inspired something like contentment, but instead I listened closely to the lyrics for a meaning I could relate to. It was right there. I didn't have to wait long. The wonderful world over the rainbow is a dream. Before I got into the car I watched a ceremony and fed the baby. Topher's minutes-old fingers were scaly-white and wizened. As I held him for the first time, I marveled at the similarity between those hands and the wrinkled ones of my grandparents, of my great aunts and uncles. I touched the creases.
